Julegavelisten for technofile (skabs)nørder

50 Perfect Gifts for Webophiles, Bloggers, & Internet Marketers

Et par eksempler:
Mini Hydrogenbil
Legetøjshydrogenbil med H2 hub og det hele. $99.95

Voodoo knivblok
…ja den er jo set før – men stadig cool. $69.99

Rapporter om Content and Collaboration

  • Blog Business Summit

Oh, how I would have liked to go to Washington and participate in the Blog Business Summit! Look at the sessions and the speakers. Talk about brain food.

Anyhow – a series of seminars is following in the aftermath of BBS – blogging 101 looks very interresting.

Maybe one day there will be a Wiki Business Summit too?

WordPress is an official sponsor of BBS – apparently this post gives a $300 discount for wordpress users. I wonder if that applies to blogging 101 too? :-)

    bilingual blog plugin

This post continues the pending plugin post.
I’ve been wanting a plugin for this blog that makes it possible to write in two languages without having to consider whether doc types and other language support is correct.
I’ve found a basic bilingual plugin (here is a working example) – but it is still an alpha version and I am not that much of a techie to enjoy tampering and tinkering with a plugin that may or may not work.

What I am looking for is basically a radio button type of thing that defines whether the post is written in danish or english. If the same plugin would put a little flag/gif near the title, I wouldn’t object to that either.

    Fallout and Lionheart

Being a huge fan of the 3 Fallout-PC games (fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics) I was filled with an instant urge to buy and try Lionheart – a computer Role Playing Game that uses the rules from Fallout 1,2 and Fallout Tactics PC games.

And while we’re at it – there has been rumours about a release of Fallout 3 for a couple af years now, but now Bethesda seems to be carrying the torch…

    Update:
I’ve halfheartedly been playing Lionheart the last couple of weeks – it has some interresting twists and turns (casting spells, figthing dragons and such), but I have to follow som of the criticism being laid upon Lionheart:

  • the resolution is too low – 800×600 minus one third for navigation and stuff makes battle and sneaking a bit frustrating.
  • there is too much hacking and slashing – some dungeons just keep on and on, and there are too many mindless monsters to deal with.
  • detached comments

The concept is to make it possible to comment directly on visited pages, but since it is not possible to add notes, comments, and whatnot to the webpage itself, the comments must be stored in an other place. The comments could then be showed on the pages as an added layer – maybe generated by a plugin/extension to your favourite browser.
Detached comments would function on as well individual as colloborative levels. All it takes is to apply access rights when adding comments. There are then several ways to access comments:
    - per chance; stumble upon notes made by your ‘group’ on Detached Comments
    - per rss; subscribe to content and location of comments made by your peers – what would actually resemble a dispersed blog

The furthest extension of the idea is to combine geo-information to comments, making it possible to somehow attach virtual comments to real objects… (Warning: this is idea needs further elaboration…)
