Somehow the release of wordpress 2.0 slipped past my attention. Now it is here ad it’s looking good.

Firefox blogging extension
This is a test post with a blogging firefox extension from performancing.com – the extension gives you easy access to your blogs. A nice feature is the split window that lets you drag and drop content dircectly into your blog post.
It will also allow you to drag lists, headings and even images…
(quote was dragged and dropped).
I miss the shortcuts I use in the normal editing window, though, so I’ll have to drop a comment on that.
View in FireFox
Firefox has a nice extension that lets you view webpages in IE – now another nifty extension lets you ‘view in Firefox‘ from IE.
Donating computer power revisited
In the dawn of the internet one of the coolest screensavers thinkable was displaying the SETI@Home process – basically a visualization of your efforts to help find LGM.
Now BOINC(Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) gives you the opportunity to donate computing power to a range of scientific research projects from climate prediction to biomedical research.
Rhetorics and composition wiki
Kairosnews really has some cool links today. I this case an open invitation to comment or review a wiki on rhetorics and composition.
How I wish that this was possible all those (4) years ago, when online collaboration was passing emails and attachments around…
The web word processor
Writely is a free online service that bills itself as a “web word processor” with “Simple & SECURE web document sharing.” Once a user has registered for an account, she can create word processing documents using the online WYSIWYG interface. Those documents can be published to a blog via the blog API. The system tracks revisions, and documents can be shared with selected collaborators.
Haven’t tested it yet, but it looks really interresting…

Tracking adsense with Google Analytics
There are a lot of different solutions out there – but I trust the SEO Book enough to say this might be the easiest way to go.
If you must know all possible solutions – go to Google.
Star Wars VII
There has been a lot of thinking and guessing when it comes to Star Wars VII, but my guess is that we’ll have to wait another 5-6 years for the next set of Star Wars movies to come out.
Until then take a look at these ideas for Star Wars sequels VII through IX
A squirrel on the phone
A student at the MIT has designed a protyped Autonomous Interactive Intermediary (AII) – also described as a phone-answering squirrel. The AII is able to screen calls and sort phone-calls according to your calendar and present stress level. The AII is designed to look like a squirrel, so that people using it won’t be dissapointed when the AII shows limitations – and a human looking interface would indicate flawless behaviour and a lot of features…
