Here’s the plugins, what they do and where to find’em:
Akismet

Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web serivce to see if they look like spam or not.

Will automatically delete comments that are held for moderation for any reason.

adds a “Delete comments as spam” button to the comments mass editing page, and adds email addresses, urls, and IP addresses, and any links in the comment body to spam words list.

Spam Word Block

any comments that contain a Spam word will be refused immediately(may be redundant with comment killer, but hey – they started)

Spambots – eat my shorts.

well, I must say I am thrilled that my writing encourages such an extensive comment-activity… I am somewhat puzzled, though, by the fact that seemingly only 2 comments are related to the content of my posts. Instead my comment fields have been befouled with dirty words and invitations to see documantation of sexual activities I did not know existed…
There must be some seriuosly disturbed people out there!

The only good news is that this massive attack on my comment fields made me venture further into the files of this wordpress-installation. Some day I think I might get that graphical text recognizing-hack to prevent robots from spamming me installed.
The bad news is that I have killed commenting for the time being – should you have something that really needs saying, drop me a line at blog (at) heick dot nu
